The Waterberg is a malaria-free mountain wilderness in Limpopo, roughly three hours north of Johannesburg — the most convenient Big Five region in the country for time-poor and family travellers. A private conservancy of around 50 landowners with owner-run lodges only and vehicles coordinated to limit congestion. Malaria-free Big Five in scenic Waterberg terrain, and one of the closest premium reserves to Gauteng.
