NamibRand Nature Reserve
Wolwedans Dune Camp
Dune Camp is where Wolwedans began, pitched among the red dunes of the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Six tented rooms and a two-room family suite stand on their own decks, each with a king bed that splits to twins, indoor and outdoor bathrooms, and a daybed on the private deck that converts to a starbed for sleeping out. The main area spreads across interlocking decks with a lounge, a fire pit and the Silo Bar. Scenic drives, guided walks and e-fat biking are included, and the reserve is an International Dark Sky Reserve. Open all year; children from seven.
Wolwedans Desert Lodge
Desert Lodge sits high on a dune plateau in the middle of the NamibRand, looking out over orange dunes and craggy mountains. Tented rooms and larger family rooms stand along the ridge, the family rooms taking two extra single beds for children. On the same site, the Mountain View Suite is taken by one couple at a time and comes with its own guide, chef and host. The main area runs across several decks on the sand, with two lounges, a library, fire pits and private dining options, and WiFi throughout. Scenic drives, guided walks, e-fat biking and the Heart & Home village tour are included. Closed January to March; children from five.
Wolwedans Plains Camp
Plains Camp stands alone on the open plains of the NamibRand, taken by one party at a time. Four en-suite rooms — two master, two standard — sit under canvas and timber around a central space that runs study, lounge, dining room and kitchen together, with a swimming pool and decks facing the grass. A private guide and vehicle, a house manager and a chef come with the booking. Scenic drives, guided walks and e-fat biking are included, and the plains give an uninterrupted view of the dark-sky reserve at night. Open all year; children of all ages.
Wolwedans Boulders Camp
Boulders Camp is the most remote of the Wolwedans properties, hugged by granite outcrops about three hours south of the other camps and as far off the beaten track as the NamibRand gets. Five tented suites open on three sides onto the plains, each with a deck and a sala for the afternoon, and plunge pools shared between pairs of suites. The main area gathers a dining and lounge tent, a breakfast deck, a library, a pool and an open fireplace, with a sundowner spot on the rocks above. Children from seven.
