Ulusaba
Richard Branson’s private reserve in the western sector of Sabi Sand, and three lodges rather than one. Rock Lodge stands high on a koppie with eight rooms and suites; Cliff Lodge, two self-contained suites, sits a short distance along the same outcrop. Safari Lodge lies below among jackalberry trees, ten rooms and suites in all — several of them raised into the branches and reached by swing bridge, and a Treehouse Suite set about fifteen minutes out from the main lodge. Shared across the reserve are the Aroma Boma spa, a gym, two tennis courts, a heated pool, a wine cellar and an observatory. Drives run twice daily, off-road under the reserve’s controlled rules, and there is no fence towards Kruger.
Sabi Sabi
Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, established in 1979 in the western sector of the Sabi Sand, runs as four separate lodges rather than one. Earth Lodge is built low into the hillside itself, its 13 suites each with a private plunge pool and an architectural style the reserve is well known for. Bush Lodge is the largest of the four, 25 suites around a boma and central lounge, with a kids centre and a spa — the most family-friendly of the group. Little Bush Camp (6 suites) and Selati Camp (7) sit smaller and quieter, drawing on Bush Lodge or Earth Lodge for spa access when needed. All four share Sabi Sabi’s own traversing area within the unfenced Sabi Sand–Kruger system, plus a boutique shop, back-up power and WiFi throughout, and reach the reserve by road from Johannesburg or by light aircraft onto Sabi Sabi’s own airstrip. Game drives run at dawn and dusk with a private tracker alongside the guide.
Sandringham
Sandringham opened in August 2026 as the newest addition to the Sabi Sabi Collection, on a reserve bordering the Timbavati and Thornybush Game Reserves within the unfenced Greater Kruger system near Hoedspruit. Three ways to stay: Sandringham House, an exclusive-use residence with four rooms for up to eight guests and a dedicated chef, butler, ranger and vehicle; Shisaka Camp, eight suites including family villas with private pools; and N’Weti Camp, a six-suite tented camp. Reached by road or a short charter flight into the region’s private airstrips, with twice-daily drives led by a private tracker and ranger.
