Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp
An independent tented camp in Amboseli National Park, with Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon — the name means “calm” in Swahili, and the camp is built around that feeling: warm hospitality and easy comfort between game drives.
Kitirua Plains Lodge
Kitirua Plains Lodge, an A&K Sanctuary, sits on a 128-acre private concession bordering Amboseli National Park, with Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon. Thirteen suites — eleven one-bedroom and two two-bedroom family units — run largely on solar power, and game drives cover both the concession and the national park itself.
Elephant Gorge Camp
Elephant Gorge Camp lies unfenced on community conservancy land at Kimana, east of Amboseli National Park, where the plains give way to Kilimanjaro. The rooms are built of stone and timber rather than canvas, and a waterhole below the camp brings elephant and plains game close enough to watch from the deck. Game drives run into the national park itself, and on the conservancy guests can also walk with Maasai guides from the surrounding community — which is not possible inside the park.
Little Amanya Camp
Little Amanya stands three minutes from Iremito Gate on the eastern side of Amboseli, with Kilimanjaro filling the view when the cloud lifts. Eight tents, all en-suite with private decks and solar power: a suite with an outdoor bath facing the mountain, four deluxe, one standard and two family tents sleeping four. There is a pool looking the same way, a bar and a lounge. Game drives run into the park, alongside walks, Maasai visits and balloon flights, and the birdlife around Amboseli runs to more than four hundred species.
ol Donyo Lodge
ol Donyo Lodge stands on the Maasai-owned Mbirikani Group Ranch, between Amboseli and Tsavo and bordering Chyulu Hills National Park, with Kilimanjaro often in view. It is a Great Plains lodge, remote and very private. There are eight suites and the two-bedroom Sambu family suite, each with its own pool, and a star bed on the roof for sleeping out. Two hides look over the waterhole in front of the main area, one of them sunken. Beyond open-vehicle drives there are guided walks, horse riding, mountain biking and tracking, and the lodge’s own helicopter flies scenic trips over the hills and transfers to Nairobi.
Soroi Amboseli
Soroi Amboseli stands inside Amboseli National Park, with views across the plains to Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru and resident elephant families moving past camp. It has 16 tents: 13 luxury double or twin tents, a Starbed suite for sleeping under the stars, and two two-bedroom family units. There is an infinity pool, a private bush spa with in-tent treatments, fire pits and dining indoors and out, and the camp runs on solar power. Twice-daily wildlife drives are the focus, with guided walks, birding, bush dinners, sundowners and visits to a Maasai village. Rates include meals, selected drinks and the airstrip transfer.
