In Zimbabwe’s southeastern lowveld, vast private conservancies have turned former cattle ranches into some of Africa’s most important wildlife refuges — critical strongholds for black and white rhino and wild dog. Adjoining Gonarezhou National Park, they combine serious conservation with exclusive, low-density safaris and a range of lodges from classic to ultra-luxury.

Save Valley Conservancy

One of the largest private game reserves in Africa and a flagship rhino-conservation success, Save Valley offers genuine wilderness with the Big Five, exceptional wild dog and very few other vehicles.
