Saadani is unique in East Africa — the only national park where big game and palm-fringed Indian Ocean beach meet. Elephant and buffalo wander to the shoreline, lion and giraffe roam the coastal bush, and boat safaris up the Wami River turn up hippo, crocodile and birds, while humpback whales and turtles use the waters offshore. Low-key and uncrowded, it’s a brilliant bush-and-beach add-on, just a short hop from Zanzibar.
