In Zambia’s far north, Nsumbu National Park guards a wild stretch of Lake Tanganyika — the world’s longest and second-deepest freshwater lake — where escarpment bush gives way to sandy bays and turquoise water. Under renewed conservation management its elephant, lion, buffalo and antelope are recovering, and the combination of game viewing, beaches, snorkelling and sport fishing for giant Nile perch is unlike anywhere else in the country.
